In the area of civil protection
Volunteer-friendly employer
As a partner to the fire brigade, Dr. Fritz Faulhaber GmbH & Co. KG has, since 2014, supported the voluntary fire brigades in Schönaich and Waldenbuch by letting its employees leave their workplace to answer a call. In 2018 the eight firefighters – seven men and one woman – responded to 45 calls. That corresponds to an average of 72 lost working hours per employee. In 2019 as well, the six firemen have already been called to serve at more than 20 calls resulting in an average of 44 hours of time away from work. For this commitment, the Schönaich-based company was recognised as a volunteer-friendly employer in the area of civil protection in autumn 2019 by the German state of Baden-Württemberg. During a ceremony, Thomas Strobl, Deputy Minister-President and State Minister of the Interior, Digitisation and Migration, presented the awards to FAULHABER and around 30 other companies who, in addition to the fire brigade, support other relief organisations such as the THW (Technisches Hilfswerk, a civil protection organisation), the Red Cross or the Malteser Hilfsdienst (a charitable service provider) by granting their employees time off work to respond to calls.
