Brakes
FAULHABER DC motor brakes are electromagnetically released systems. They are designed as permanent magnet brakes for direct current, in which the braking effect is generated by a permanent magnetic field. To release the brake, this field is neutralized by an opposing electromagnetic field.
FAULHABER permanent magnet brakes generate their braking effect in the switched-off, currentless state, which is why they are also referred to as holding brakes. They are designed exclusively for holding and are not suitable for active braking of rotating motor shafts.
DC motor brakes can be combined with brushed and brushless DC motors from the FAULHABER portfolio.
