FAULHABER has, for many years, worked constantly on achieving the goal of zero greenhouse gas emissions. In the Schönaich location, for example, a cogeneration unit was installed that produces power and heat and functions considerably more efficiently than standard heating systems. Photovoltaic systems for power generation were installed and expanded at many locations of the group of companies. The additional demand for power is (with the exception of a few locations) obtained from regenerative sources.
It is our declared goal and commitment to constantly improve our life-cycle assessment. The framework is provided by the requirements of ISO 14001, which are met by all production and development sites. In this regard, we regularly evaluate the state of our environmental management system. We examine the technical and organizational procedures and processes to identify possible weak points and take all necessary measures for avoiding harmful environmental impacts from our activities and products. Thanks to the responsible use of energy sources and raw materials as well as the reduction of environmental pollution through measures including the use of recyclable packaging, avoiding compressed air in production, or leasing bicycles for commuting, we make an important contribution to the protection of the environment and natural resources.
Since 2016, FAULHABER has been using the power of the sun to generate electricity at Schönaich. A monitor in FAULHABER’s reception area informs employees and guests about the system’s current performance data and the amount of electricity that has been fed in since commissioning. Beyond Schönaich, photovoltaic systems are also used for power generation at other FAULHABER sites around the world.
Waste is produced in many different production steps. Through strict sorting within our production area, it has been possible to recycle this waste in the ideal case. By sorting the waste and thanks to the recycling possibilities now available, waste no longer has to be disposed of. Also, waste-to-energy has become less important in recent years, which means that it has been possible to recycle a large proportion of our waste.
Compliance with legal regulations concerning waste is repeatedly checked jointly with the disposal companies to ensure that all processes and procedures are up-to-date.
The protection of personal data and how this data is handled is extremely important to us. We are committed to complying with nationally and internationally applicable data protection laws. They form an important basis for trustful business relationships and for cooperation within the company and the corporate group.
